Can they keep up?

Nancy Says 19

“Now the time is right for eyes from the outside” Nancy Says,
does one detect from this, that she is disappointed with our
council? Aren’t they by and large, her chosen ones? Aren’t these
the “steady hands”? Weren’t they going to make us “best”?

Our Nancy seems to feel they need help!!
Based on performance to date, I disagree. Maximum salary,
new cars, Three meetings a month, not four!! I’d suggest they
are doing alright. A backlog of Questions on Notice
unanswered, the Water Park in a state of limbo and a “NEW”
council logo that wouldn’t inspire a Warthog.

Come on Nancy, you got most of what you wanted. HELP after
only three or four weeks!! Still it can only get better, can’t it?

I had serious doubts when amalgamations were announced as to whether or not council controlled operations would continue to run smoothly post merger.

The demise of REST and the apparent lack of a replacement is just one example of poor forward planning by the transition committee. If the quoted turnover figures are correct, are we to believe that approximately $350,000 of recyclables will not be recovered? That would pay for a fleet of nice new cars or even this big entrance statement Hervey Bay apparently needs.

What is clear is that council has a huge task ahead of it and those ’safe hands’ aren’t as safe as Nancy or anyone else might like to think. Yes there are a few quality members on the team but by and large it is lacking substance and ability as is failing to excite the community. Sad isn’t it!

    Come on John,

There is probably a warthog somewhere that would be inspired.

Perhaps we will see our erstwhile ed. arrange a panel along the lines of Kev’s stacked 2020 conference, with outcomes guaranteed to please the most fastidious. All in the general interest, of course!

After all, she has a proven track record in such matters. Remember her media campaign that disenfranchised most voters last council election by a total lack of honest and unbiased reporting.

I do not look forward to any further manipulation of local politics by Nance.

And no, mate, it will not get better.

The demise of REST is nothing to do with a lack of forward planning. The Council message is simply dishonest on all things concerning this matter.

REST is being forced to go so that the Council can make the money from the recycling rather than them. Simple as that. Mr. Smith thinks the money will be better off in the Council coffers and who cares what happens to the members of the community who need assistance.

Same as this business about the contract being worth too much to allow REST to stay short term. It is simply not true. Or to put it another way, they are already misleading the community to allow them to do whatever they want for their own benifit.
