Here we go again, Greenhouse Gas Emissions, and their solutions.
According to the article in the local paper (FCC 9.7/08), there is a solution,
and they are right. There has been a solution for the last 20 years.
It is known as the d’Oliveira Natural Gas Refinery (dNGR), it can
replace all current sewerage plants, allowing every city and town
to turn 98% of it’s waste water back to potable water. Thereby
drought proofing our urban areas, without having to build a single
new dam, now or in the future. The other benefit is renewable
energy, Hydrogen that does not contribute to Green House Gases
(GHG). The dNGR has zero waste, so no more destruction of the
Barrier Reef or pullution of our food crops with the toxic waste.
The solution is now in the hands of the people. As the government
and politicians, are just a bunch of the seeing blind and hearing
deaf. Who think with their hand firmly on your wallet and its contents.
Their ideas feature higher fees and taxes, while the largest pollutors
are being subsidised with these very fees and taxes. To solve this
problem today, to do something about this now, to assist your
children and grandchildrens future, think dNGR.

Regarding greehouse gases, can eny 1 tell me if greenhouse gas is poison and what does it consist of
Wikipedia suggests the following:
“Greenhouse gases (GHGs) are the gases present in the earth’s atmosphere which reduce the loss of heat into space and therefore contribute to global temperatures through the greenhouse effect. Greenhouse gases are essential to maintaining the temperature of the Earth; without them the planet would be so cold as to be uninhabitable”
As Strewthisback has pointed out GHG is a combination of many gases. Any one of which can be poisonous in it’s purest form? I put a qeuestion mark behind form, for the following reason. CO2 is one of the gases most talked about, if a room is filled with CO2, is it the CO2 that kills you or the lack of oxygen? An interesting question.

While he has been rather vocal the past few days, Andrewbolt makes several really good points. I too agree that it is time for public debate on so called Global Warming.
As one article on another blog recently pointed out, global warming and cooling has occurred throughout the ages. The planet has gone through cycles of warmth as well as extreme cold - or so the scientists will tell us.
No one has the time these days to research the issues and make up their own minds so they are happy to believe what the media feed them.. it is a shame because we’ve forgotten how to think for ourselves.

This is what Brendan Nelson said today “I see there is an emerging body of scientific opinion which questions the role of carbon in all of this, but I’m strongly of the view that we give the planet the benefit of the doubt,” he said yesterday. Sure, scientists differ about the degree and speed of global warming, but if it is not caused by carbon, why on earth are we contemplating support for an emissions trading scheme at all?

Water tipped to reach $9 a kilolitre

Water could be big business for councils that become shareholders in the distribution business attached to the state government’s SEQ water grid. But it will be ratepayers who pay the bill.
That was the grim message from the council’s finance director Greg Laverty who said water now showing at a cost of 90 cents a kilolitre on rate notices would be $9 a kilolitre in 10 years time.
The grid will become a reality in 2010 to equalise the distribution of water across South-east Queensland.
However mayor Bob Abbot signalled yesterday he would not sign off on any equalisation of price unless he could get a guarantee that water distributed by the grid would be of equal quality to what residents now enjoy and that they could be assured water supply.
Until either Traveston Crossing Dam is approved and built or a desalination plant constructed water would be drawn down from Coast supplies but there would be no back-up supply in the event of severe drought.
Coast dams fill quickly but also draw down fast.
Lake Macdonald and Baroon Pocket Dam treatment plants are recognised as producing the best quality water in South-east Queensland.
Council yesterday grappled with the opportunity it has to become a shareholder in the distribution business.
A company to be known as SEQ Distribution Entity (Interim) Pty Ltd will be set up to ensure the transfer of council water businesses and for funding the state’s water reform program.
The 10 councils would all hold $1 shares in the company but would be responsible for servicing a $40 million line of credit on a pro rata basis according to population.
The money would be used to pay costs associated with setting up the distribution business and would represent each council’s stake in it.
While such an equity stake would deliver an income stream to council, the money would flow straight from the pockets of ratepayers who would pay increasingly more for the privilege.
Price would help limit demand and reduce waste however several councillors expressed concern that there may be little other incentive for the water authority to commit to demand management.
Councillors voted to have the mayor or CEO examine opportunities to amend the objectives of the shareholder agreement.
$9 a kilolitre , wow that means that a kilolitre delivered to Brisbane from Traveston , will only cost the tax payers of QLD $15 to get it there , because its current unit cost is ca $26 , wow that means that brisbane is only going to make $675M a year from our 75,000mgl!

Mainstream media thought they had it covered but they didnt count on the voice of the people , the internet. Henny Penny should also be thrown in jail for saying the global temp is rising when it is heading south for the winter. You only have to look out the window to see the proof bbbbrrrr! This Global warming is freezing me to death. Jonangel I am still waiting on your scientific proof that proves your point. In the meantime we will probably get another statement from roger to fill the in between spaces.

So you need to let us know just how much we can expect as a compensation package for the loss of the water from Traveston ,and impacts to the regional economy , I think about $3000 a megalitre would be ideal ,( even though i know your mob are planning to build a grid for SEQ and then flog it to a ‘global water entity’, so that htey can sell it for $9000 a meg) so you will need to get Andrew Fraser to write a yearly cheq for $225M for the Mary catchment , otherwise your’re mob are stealing it.

The available storage as at 3 p.m. Thursday, 7 August 2008 was 66.0 %. and, what’s more a Sydney desalination plant was started so that, when combined with dozens of other recycling and storm-water initiatives, the city will be drought-proof for 50 years. It was good to see “Sixty Minutes” begrudgingly give “not controversial” Dr David Evans a world expert on non-toxic “greenhouse gasses” a look-in which is a sign of things to come. Looks like our Tim, author of “The Climate Makers” probably will be heading for Centrelink in the near future and he should give back his “Australian of the year” award for causing undue stress and spreading “alarmism” when it wasn’t warranted.
